Meet the Team
Dave Scheid
RSC General Manager
Dave has been with the Swim Club since 2010. He is a retired PR middle school teacher, aquatics director, and swim coach (1970 - 2003). He also coached the Allegheny North Swim Club for 26 years (1974 - 2000) and managed several other area summer swim clubs. Dave and his wife Katie, also a retired PR elementary teacher, currently live in Cape Coral, Florida, during the fall and winter months. Dave refers to his current tenure at RSC as rehab due to retirement.
Kristen Allen
Assistant Manager
Kristen has been coming to the Richland Swim Club since she was a child and has been a member with her own family for the past 15 years. Over the years, Kristen has served as a lifeguard, swim lesson instructor, and swim team coach at the RSC. She began her competitive swimming career at age 5 with the Richland Rays and went on to win a WPIAL Championship with Pine-Richland and a WAIA National Championship with Westminster College, both for the 100 Meter Butterfly. Kristen is a middle school and high school English teacher with Riverview School District, and a certified guidance counselor.
Paul Schreiber
Assistant Manager
Paul and his family have been RSC members since 2005. He's worked at the RSC for 12 years as both a lifeguard and assistant manager. He swam competitively and played hockey for many years. Paul is also a staff nurse at UPMC Mercy Trauma/Burn ICU. He holds bachelor's degrees from Penn State (Biology) and Robert Morris (Nursing). Paul leads our staff training in emergency management.
Erika Cooper
Head Coach - Richland Rays
Erika brings 25 years of coaching experience to the Richland Ray. She is a USA Swimming-certified coach and has coached at the collegiate, high school, and Masters levels. She has been recognized as a National Coach of the Year (CWPA) and Conference Coach of the Year (CAC) and also currently coaches with Racer X Aquatics (USA Swimming). An accomplished aquatics athlete, Erika swam and played water polo collegiately where she was a Big 10 Finalist, Big 10 Tournament MVP, and Collegiate All-American. She was inducted into the High School Hall of Fame for swimming and is a National High School record holder. Erika holds an MS in Kinesiology - Sports Administration.
